Devil’s Millhopper

For those of you who enjoy long, scenic hikes, The Devil’s Millhopper is a very popular destination in Gainesville. Don’t be turned off by the name, this state park is known for its unique bowl shaped cavity that is 120 feet deep and leads you down into a miniature rainforest. While walking down the guided trail, you can take in the beautiful views of the lush vegetation and small streams along the slopes of the cavity. As well as enjoying the sights with friends, your four-legged loved ones are more than welcome at the park as long as they are on a six-foot leash. After a fun afternoon of exploring, you can also have a picnic at the park. This park is also great if you are on a budget because admission is only $4 for vehicles and $2 for pedestrians. Located on 4732 Millhopper Road and open from 9 am to 5 pm on Wednesday through Sunday, this picturesque destination is definitely one you should be sure to check out.
