Did you know Gainesville has a gardener’s dream with our very own Kanapaha Botanical Gardens? Kanapaha Botanical Gardens is comprised of 24 major collections throughout 1.5 mile paved walkway. Did you hear about the new bus coming to town? RTS is teaming up with the Florida Department of Transportaion and the University of Florida to test out a “Driverless” bus. It will hold 12 passengers and will go from downtown Gainesville to Innovation Square. There are future plans to add an additional route from Depot Park to UF. The city has teamed with the Florida Department of Transportation who is funding the project for well over $2 million. The cost will cover the shuttle and operation for three years.
