Tambourines to Glory

Langston Hughes, a Guggenheim Fellow, poet, author and playwright, delivers through a readers’ theatre a comic depiction of the devil arriving in Harlem to assist two struggling women establish a decidedly for-profit church.  The presentation delivers rollicking comedy and gospel music.

India Fest ; Health Fair – March 16, 2013

Academy of St. Martin in the Fields, founded in 1958, is the first and only orchestra to be honoreed with the Queen’s Award for Export.  Performing without benefit of a conductor, the Academy dazzles audiences in 100 concerts each year.  An Avery Fisher Career Grant pianist, Inon Barnatan and a MacArthur Foundation Fellow cellist, Alisa Weilerstein perform with the orchestra.
